Pre-Release Rumors[]

Prior to release of the Moto X, there were many rumors about the device. It was referred to as the "Motorola X Phone", and was rumored to run stock Android instead of Motoblur, Motorola's customized Android OS.

The rumors were mainly focused around the hardware rather than the software. Most rumors stated that the phone would be highly customizable. Other rumors stated that the buyer be able to pick his or her own storage space, or just the phone's color, while some of the more extreme rumors have said that you'll be able to customize nearly everything. This included processor, RAM, carrier, color, storage, and several other things could all be custom ordered.

Another rumor was that the phone would have a special button on the back. When pressed, a certain action would happen. This action could possibly launch an app, or perform some other function.
