Google.org hosts many projects, including ones that help crisis, disease outbreak, and improving nonprofit organizations. They also promise to donate 1% of their profit to charities.
Google.org once hosted a renewable energy project, which aimed to develop renewable energy cheaper than coal, and make it as clean ("green") as possible. It started in the year 2007 and was discontinued in 2011 after it failed to reach its goal. They also had projects that increased awareness and sales about electric cars, identify "hot spots" or warning signs for disasters to help protect people, improve health and education around the world, and one that helped small businesses in the developing world.
